Bar Zero

On the second floor of a building near Shin-Koiwa Station, Bar Zero is a karaoke bar with a broad selection of bottles, especially Scotch and bourbon. The whisky selection ranges from distinctive Scotches such as Chivas Mizunara, Laphroaig and Ardbeg to bourbons including Four Roses Black, Booker's and Blanton's. There is draft beer, along with beers from around the world such as Corona, Singha and Guinness, plus cocktails and a range of sours available in mega-size servings. That leaves plenty of options to suit the mood.

For something to eat with a drink, the menu includes familiar bar snacks such as edamame, fries and dried ray fin, as well as more substantial dishes for late-night hunger. Choices include dak-galbi fried rice, takoyaki and a daily pasta, along with Shin Ramyun and miso soup for a final warm bowl. It is a lineup substantial enough to make a proper meal of it without leaving the bar.

Karaoke and game machines give the place a casual feel, suited both to a lively group outing and to a quieter drink on your own. Open from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m., it makes a useful stop for those heading out after the last train.
